Caring for Your BrookeLynn's Home Art Print
Congratulations on your new artwork! To ensure your print maintains its vibrant colors and beautiful quality for years to come, please follow these simple care instructions.
General Care & Cleaning:
- Handle with Care: Always hold your print by the edges or wear clean cotton gloves. Avoid touching the printed surface, as oils from your hands can leave marks or cause damage.
- Dusting (Framed): Dust your framed print only when necessary. Use a clean, dry, soft microfiber cloth or a feather duster on the frame and glass.
- Cleaning the Glass: If cleaning the glass of a framed print, spray the glass cleaner onto a cloth first, then wipe the glass. Never spray the cleaner directly onto the frame/glass, as the liquid could seep under the frame and damage the print.
- Cleaning the Print (Unframed): Never use liquids or chemical cleaners directly on the print's surface. A light, gentle dusting with a very soft, clean brush is the safest option.
Handling & Display:
- Avoid Direct Sunlight: Never hang your print in direct, prolonged sunlight. UV rays are the primary cause of fading and color degradation.
- Control Temperature and Humidity: Display your artwork in a location with stable temperatures and moderate humidity. Avoid placing prints near air vents, radiators, or in high-moisture areas like bathrooms.
- Framing is Recommended: We highly recommend framing your print behind glass or acrylic to protect it from dust, moisture, and environmental pollutants.
- Use Archival Materials: When framing, ensure any mounting boards, matting, or adhesives are acid-free (archival quality) to prevent the paper from yellowing over time.
Important Considerations:
- Unrolling Prints: If your print arrives rolled, unroll it immediately on a clean, flat surface. You can gently weigh down the corners for a few hours to help it flatten before framing.
- Preventing Sticking: If using a mat board, ensure it creates a small air gap between the print's surface and the glass. Direct contact with glass in humid environments can cause the print to stick.
- Keep Dry: Always ensure the location is dry to prevent rippling or mildew growth.
By following these simple care instructions, your BrookeLynn's Home art print will continue to be a beautiful and cherished part of your home decor for years to come.
